When do the clocks go back?

The clocks go back on Sunday, which means we get an extra hour in bed in the morning!

Did you know, the day after the clocks go back, there’s a 21% decrease in heart attacks? 1 hour may not seem significant, but contrastingly, in Spring when we lose an hour, there is a 24% increase in heart attacks as well as more accidents on the road and at work.

So, enjoy the additional hour in bed, but don’t over-think it. We recommend you:

  1. Change your clocks the night before (if they aren’t updated automatically). Go to bed at your usual time and don’t think about the change on the clocks.
  2. Don’t hit snooze when your alarm goes off in the morning – get up and ready for the day. If you stay in bed too long, you may struggle to get to sleep in the evening and your circadian rhythm will be out of sync.

How many nights have you tossed and turned, struggling to get comfortable whilst your other half is snoozing away next to you?

It seems like there’s always one person with the deciding vote when it comes to what mattress and bedding to buy, and unfortunately that usually leaves one person less than satisfied with their sleep routine.

Some like it soft, some like it firm. Some like it somewhere in the middle. But we certainly do not all like it the same. So why is it that one person in the relationship seems to draw the short straw when it comes to sleep? We all have different shapes and sizes, so what feels like a cloud to some people might feel like a plank of wood to others (an extreme example, but you get the idea).

How do you decide who get’s their way? Do you literally ‘draw straws’? The 50:50 chance of having to settle for a bed you cannot truly get comfortable in are not good odds, and that’s why so many of us are not getting enough quality sleep.

So how can you get your own way?

You may have considered attempting to persuade your other half that the mattress you want will make them sleep better too, or maybe you were going to try and sneakily swap that rock hard mattress for the super soft one in the spare room- and hope nobody would notice?

The only problem is, they will notice! And their sleep will suffer as a result.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could find a mattress that both you AND your partner can get comfortable on?

That’s where we come in. Tweak mattress is the no compromise couples solution. The dual layer of foam allows both you and your partner to customise your firmness for your half of the bed, so you can both get the sleep you deserve, without the need for separate bedrooms.
